... it's been a fairly busy 2009 so far, with alot of opportunities coming this fall in the film area. Started the year in March making a tv commercial for River Spirit Casino in Tulsa that paid very well. Then made an intriguing short "Faith Healer" with Adam Hirsch. Shot a campy little short film in Tulsa called "Donald Jenkins Funeral" by Chris Galegar. . . . and so my character " Mr. Johnson " in the film " BLOOM " has wrapped. Filming of " BLOOM " continues on weekends and should wrap up in the very near future. ...ahh yes, the double whammy weekend. YES WE DO MAKE FILMS IN OKLAHOMA ! Started out on Saturday 9/6 call time 6:00 am to get fed, get wardrobe, makeup, load out equipment, and make the short drive to a famous mansion NW of OKC. ...well the cloudy cooler weather was a relief today. We were filming a few spots / out takes / and part of one scene today. Small crew, very relaxed atmoshere compared to last weekend. Intensity had to be dragged out of me by the director Diane Kern today. Not good for it to have to be dragged out of me, but she did a good job of doing it. ...well, it was a tough day weather wise to be filming in Oklahoma. YES, WE DO MAKE FILMS IN OKLAHOMA ! Today was the downtown scene filmed in a small community just outside of OKC. Period clothing, horses, buggies, extras, the wind, the heat, and the timing on all these factors made the day a challenge. All things considered, I think it went very well. ...well the dog-days of summer are definitely here, and filming on the set today of "BLOOM" was definitely not for the faint of heart. It was relaxed pleasant scenes in the AM followed by grueling physical violence scenes in the PM. The persperation was heavy while filming inside the old farmhouse. You really had to love what you were doing to hang with it. Our Producer / Director Diane Kern keeps a close eye on us though, and makes sure we stay hydrated. Marcie Price was again fabulous. ...getting ready to go into the "DOG-DAYS" of summer things are, well they are a little "BLAH". Lay on the beach at Galveston, get burnt. Lay by the pool at the house, get burnt. ...wonderful day of filming at the old farmhouse on Sunday. I let my horrible character "Mr. Johnson" out of the bag. At times I thought it to be over the top, but can you really be that when you are going "postal" with a character in a drunk madness ? ...filming of the feature film production "BLOOM" has already begun. I hit the set for the first time this week, to bring my horrendous character "Mr. Johnson" to life. Smelting my rage for these intense scenes has already begun. The horrible scagg of neck and facial hair I have going on lends itself well for the visual effects, as well as my miserable discomfort in this hot Oklahoma heat. YES, we do make films in OKLAHOMA.
