...ahh yes, the double whammy weekend. YES WE DO MAKE FILMS IN OKLAHOMA ! Started out on Saturday 9/6 call time 6:00 am to get fed, get wardrobe, makeup, load out equipment, and make the short drive to a famous mansion NW of OKC. " BLOOM " was back on track to film weekends through Sept. to hopefully get it into post production by October. Ms.Diane Kern was in fine form directing ... it was obvious that she had put alot of thought into her preparations for this shoot. Rick, Antonio and Louis were handling sound, lighting, script supervision and clapboard among other items. Ms. Diane was very creative with her camera shots and angles. Good time was made shooting a number of scenes and pages. Beth was handling hair and makeup even though being somewhat under the weather. My take on the situation was...she wasn't gonna miss putting vaseline in my hair one more time ! Thanks Beth ! Marcie was great as she has been all throughout the shoot. Cudos to Randy who stepped it up a notch this weekend.
On Sunday 9/7 I reported to the set of " BLOOD MEMORY " (as BLOOM was still shooting, but no scenes included my character) in a large field south of Noble. Five wagons, many extras, horses, stuntmen, multiple cameras, period weapons, period clothing. It was a large undertaking lead by director Allen Scales, 2nd Ty Dickinson, production manager Mel Cantu, DP Geoff Boyd, and a who's who of crew members too numerous to mention. Many actors were there that i've seen on numerous other shoots. Jiffy Houghton, Erica from "Wasted", Drew Nixon, Melinda Long, just to name a few. It was a long hot day, the medic had to attend to several including our director Allen Scales who eventually recovered long enough to finish up. Special thanks to a great photographer that was at both shoots, Brian Davis.
In the meantime, I've met a very dynamic Lady from Eastern Oklahoma (Tulsa) that is very involved with the film industry. We are trying to callaborate on an idea that she brought before the Tulsa film commision and state director Jill Simpson a week or two ago. It is the " OKLAHOMA FILM EXPO " which is aimed at bringing ALL that are involved in the film industry in OKLAHOMA together to exhibit their wares and abilities. Production companies, crew members, directors, producers, actors, casting directors, talent agents, vendors, equipment suppliers, stuntmen, you name it, if they are connected to film, we want them there. This EXPO could be a very valuble tool, networking the states film community together while presenting their abilities to advertising agencies and film entities that are invited here from beyond our borders to see what we are capable of. This could possibly put us on the radar screen for larger productions from beyond our borders and/or spurr interest within our borders to develop more from right here within our own state. YES WE DO MAKE FILMS IN OKLAHOMA ! ...more to come as the camera rolls. CHOW.
