. . . and so my character " Mr. Johnson " in the film " BLOOM " has wrapped. Filming of " BLOOM " continues on weekends and should wrap up in the very near future. Working for and with Diane Kern at Wintershine Productions has been a pleasure. The trailer for " BLOOD MEMORY " has also wrapped and is in post production. Director Allen Scales and his abled bodied crew including Mel Cantu ( which i might add a congratulations is in order for Mel Cantu and Bryce Cleek, they are pregnant ! ) did a wonderful job. Meantime, my friend Deanna Spyres in Tulsa is set to have a meeting with Tulsa Film com. and a representative from the Oklahoma Film com. office this Tuesday 9/23 about putting together plans for the " OKLAHOMA FILM EXPO " or the OFE as we like to call it. This will be for and benefit everyone connected to the film industry in the Oklahoma. We would like for it to draw attention to the fact that Oklahoma has the ability, right here within our state borders to supply quilified personel to produce commercials, feature films, you name it. We would like to promote this to corporations right here in our state that think they have to hire a firm from California or Texas (as an example) to get it done on a professional scale. We have professionals right here in Oklahoma. Sometimes these professionals from out of state sub-lease some of the work right back to individuals here in Oklahoma. The "savings" is put right into the pocket of the out of state firms. As we begin to have faith in our own work here in Oklahoma, others around the country will begin to take notice. They will see that we have an ample crew, actor, vendor, equipment, production "BASE" that " is professional " and able to do the work. With our costs here in the heartland being on a little more reasonable scale, it is inherent that the "WORK" can be done for less $ DOLLARS $ here in our state. All one has to do is take a look at what has been happening in Austin, Texas over the last few years to get an idea. Now is the time for Oklahoma to hit this market running to facilitate the opportunity for more of this work to come our way. The diversity of Oklahoma's landscape and people make this a natural fit. Well, enough on my soapbox for now. We need people, names and contact numbers so we can unify everyone in the industry in Oklahoma. An e-mail address and website will be forthcoming. More to come as the camera rolls.......CHOW.
